Notice to the Residents of Labuništa

With the arrival of warmer days, residents of Labuništa have started the traditional cleaning and arranging of yards and gardens.

The shelters near Labunishki Bachila, which serve as rest and recreation spots for mountain visitors, have been found broken and destroyed.

Authorities have recently conducted intensified inspections that revealed a serious scale of illegal logging of forest resources in the country. According to publicly released information from the director of Public Enterprise National Forests, Kire Mihailov, with a cutting permit of 1,000 m³, over 10,000 m³ of wood are being harvested – indicating an alarming ratio of 9:1 favoring illegal logging.

Approximately at the location of Labunishta on Ptolemy's map (reissued in 1490) the fortress **Albanopolis** is marked; on the map by **Hassius** (1744) it is marked: **Albanopoli in ruin**. The Slovenian toponym is just an adaptation of the Greek: the second member - polis (which actually functions as a suffix) is replaced by the Slovenian suffix -ishte with a double meaning:

Every Bayram brings tears and joy to Labunishta. The roads that were once quiet now come alive with the footsteps of those who left. From Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Italy... from all corners of Europe, sons and daughters return home, where the heart never really left.

Today, in the center of Labunista, the traditional preparation of Labunista's Bachilska Halva took place, a beloved local specialty made for years following an authentic recipe.

In Labunishta, known for its tradition and religious dedication, the 29th Quran Evening will be held this year – an event that has symbolized spirituality and community for nearly three decades.

Tonight, an iftar was organized for the students who regularly attend classes at the Lower Mosque school.

We are entering the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan – the most valuable period for worship, repentance, and good deeds. These nights bring special mercy, as the most valuable night – Laylat al-Qadr, the night better than a thousand months – is hidden within them.

Machines can be heard, and the smell of fresh asphalt spreads through the air as the locals eagerly follow the process. After years of hard work and unity, the yard and parking lot of one of the most beautiful mosques in our country are getting a new, neat appearance.

He was born on August 14, 1909 (according to some sources, 1913) in the village of Labunishta, in the Struga region, into a respected family. He completed his primary education in Labunishta and secondary education in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was fluent in Albanian, Macedonian, Turkish, French, and Italian.

Today, in the premises of the "Emanet" mosque, in a warm and brotherly atmosphere, a group of young Labunishta residents working and living in the province of Treviso, Italy, founded the humanitarian society "Labunista".

In the distant year 1980, when Yugoslavia was still a strong federation, a child from the village of Labunishta, Tasim Limanoski, made history as the youngest mountaineer in the entire territory of the then country.

With great honor and joy, the Labuništa diaspora in Austria is organizing a joint Iftar for the first time, which will be held in the spirit of unity, faith, and tradition.

The group from Labunishta, who diligently fulfills this sacred duty, had the opportunity to be part of a historic moment, carrying the spirit of their region into the heart of Islam – the holy Kaaba.

This afternoon, a fire broke out on the ridge in Labunishta, near the area called Kalishta, known as "Kale." The causes of the fire are currently unknown, but it is rapidly spreading and covering a large area.

With a heart full of emotions and pride, the Mufti of the Mufti Office of the Islamic Religious Community in Struga, H. Adi ef. Murtishi, today granted the authorization to teach the Quran at the Mekteb of the Upper Mosque in Labunishta to Hafiza Elhana Maksutoska.
