The Macedonian national team midfielder will continue his career at the Chinese first league club Dalian Yifang.

Alimi, who will turn 31 on February 2, is leaving the Romanian club Sepsi, where he has played since summer 2023. There, he caught the attention of Macedonian coach Blagoja Milevski, made his debut for Macedonia, and became a regular thanks to his strong performances.

Dalian Yifang will pay Sepsi 400,000 euros for his services. This season, Alimi played 17 matches in the Romanian Superliga, scored 4 goals, and provided two assists.

For Macedonia, Alimi has played 13 matches so far; he made his debut in September 2023 against Italy in Skopje and has scored 2 goals.

His new team, Dalian Yifang, finished second last season in the Chinese second league and was promoted to the first league. The new Chinese league season starts on February 21.

Despite his transfer to the Far East, we hope Alimi will continue to be a regular in the national team as he has proven to be a valuable asset.

Alimi hails from Delogozhda near Struga and throughout his rich career has played, among others, for Serie A clubs Atalanta and Chievo, while his career began at Struga’s Vlaznimi.
