By a decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia made on May 6, 2025, the concession for the exploitation of mineral resources – gabbro – at the location near Strizhak, Jablanica mountain, near the village of Labunishta, has been unilaterally terminated. The decision takes effect from May 9, 2025, officially ending the threat to the natural wealth of this area.

This victory did not come by chance – it is the result of the selfless, persistent, and courageous struggle of the people of Labunishta. Citizens, united and determined, camped for days and nights at Strizhak, defending their land, mountain, water, and future. At the forefront stood the association Natura Lab – ecological fighters with vision and heart, who managed to mobilize the community, raise awareness, and protect nature.

The people of Labunishta proved that when the people are united, nothing is impossible.

They set an example for the entire country – that love of the homeland, the voice of justice, and perseverance are stronger than any concession or interest.

Many thanks to every individual who stood at Strizhak, to everyone who raised their voice, and to the Natura Lab association for their dedication, leadership, and persistence. This victory is ours – this victory is for future generations!

Strizhak remains green – Labunishta will keep the heart of Jablanica.
