Borovec is one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Macedonia – a place with rich tradition, culture, and mutual respect. The village counts about 200 households and more than 1,200 residents, many of whom live and work in Western European countries.

Every year, during the summer holidays, Borovec comes alive again. The village fills with weddings, children's laughter, joy, socializing, and reunions of families, friends, and neighbors. It is a time when everyone returns to where their roots are.

One of the most beautiful and anticipated events in August is the Migrant Mini Football Tournament – a tradition that has united all generations for years. Teams made up of residents born from 1967 to 2010 compete on the same field, showing that love for sport and the village connects all generations.

But this tournament is much more than a competition. It is a symbol of unity, friendship, and togetherness.

As part of the long-standing tradition, on the tournament day the whole village dines together. In large pots, prepared in the early morning hours in the traditional village way, village-style beans with meat are cooked, which everyone shares in the spirit of hospitality and community.

Borovec is not just a place – Borovec is a feeling, tradition, and home.
